What The Urine Color States About Your Health

Rarely we think of the  color of the  urine, that’s because we don’t know that  the smell, consistency and color of this liquid can say a lot about the state of your health. Urine consists of 95% water and other components:

-urea,

-creatinine,

-potassium,

-dissolved ions and

-inorganic and organic compounds.

The usual color is  yellow due to the presence of urobilin, a waste made of  the breakdown of old red blood cells.

Here’s what the different color of your urine means:

Transparent
Is a sign of over hydration, means that water down electrolytes in your body and cause chemical imbalance.

Light yellow
This is the normal color of the urine .

Cloudy
Cloudy urine is a sign of a bladder infection.

Medium yellow
This is a sign of dehydration, increase your water intake immediately.

Dark yellow
A dark yellow color means serious dehydration. Start drinking something immediately (preferably water or tea)! Dark yellow urine color might also be a side-effect of excess vitamin B intake.

Orange
Orange color urine indicates that you have too much bilirubin in your body which is a by-product of old red blood cells breakdown. Or it can be a sign of a gallstone obstructing the bile duct, liver disease, or  of taking some urinary tract infections medications.

Pink
Might be  a result of beet consumption, or  that there’s some blood in your urine,so visit your urologist in order to make sure there’s nothing wrong.

Darker pink
May be caused by bladder infection ,cancer or  kidney or bladder stones. Consult  a doctor .

Dark pink
Too much blood in your urine, can indicate that the bleeding has been left untreated and can be caused by cancer, so you talk immediately with a doctor .

Brown
Certain medications such as the anti-malarial chloroquine or the antibiotic metronidazole can do this . Liver and kidney disorder a,or even too much exercise because muscles use myoglobin for energy, can be the reason .

Take a myoglobin test at a doctor as excess myoglobin can result in kidney failure.

Blue or green urine
Diet rich in foods full of synthetic dyes can color your urine in blue or green and the  medications like Uribel can do this too.

Blue or green urine is usually nothing to be concerned of, but  drink a lot of water .
